President’s overview of 2010 Projects Under Consideration
*Develop a Homeowner’s Road Committee to investigate
options and make recommendations for further repairs
*Posting “No Solicitation” signs at both
entrances.
*Lighting for our East entrance sign.
*Upgrading our current streetlights.
*Organizing a Neighborhood Watch program.
*Address diseased Austrian Pines along Owen Road
Landscaping update:
Robyn Lucka spoke in regards to the Austrian Pines throughout the
subdivision in the common areas and along Owen Road by the East entrance. They have been trimmed, and treated for a type
of disease/mites. Someone asked if they were worth saving and the arborist
advised her that we would be able to make that determination by next year.
Treating these is a 2 or 3 step process.
She had hand-outs on this particular issue should anyone else see issues
with the pines in the common areas closest to their home.
Lighting the East Entrance Sign:
This is an item under consideration by the board as the solar lights
just aren’t up to the job! Question was
raised by a homeowner on the necessity of spending the money on this as an
on-going expense. The board will be working on this issue.
SRS website: Doug Kellar went through a
presentation of what is on the website and how to access the information as well. The board has considered someone to keep this
up as an opportunity for a Web savvy neighbor to earn a small stipend for their
time. A great way to send in comments
& questions as one neighbor asked that the board work on finding out what
is important to homeowners in regards to the bi-laws, etc… (and enforcing
them). It was suggested that Block Captains
names & phone numbers and/or e-mails be added to the website. It was also suggested that the Block Captains
conduct a more informal survey about concerns that their immediate neighbors
might have.
Road repair update:
Doug did a time-line of what has been done to-date on the state of our
roads. Recapped what and how information was communicated and where the process
is now. There is nothing being done at
this time in regards to the roads. The
board thought a “SRS Homeowners Road Committee” would provide a necessary start
of some new conversation on this issue. This
group would make recommendations to the board on options/solutions to the
ongoing maintenance needs of our roads.
To-date, we have 3 neighbors signed up.
